This project area includes our work on concurrency testing and verification. This includes our work on runtime predictive analysis such as prediction of data races, deadlocks, atomicity violations and other classes of properties, as well as linearizability monitoring, model checking, and related verification questions for concurrent systems.

This project area includes my work on hardware description languages, timing-safe hardware, secure hardware design, and related verification and synthesis questions. See Anvil playground.

Advancing the Foundations and Ecosystem for Safe and Secure Hardware Design — Temasek-Presidential Young Professorship, Ministry of Defence, Singapore (2026; Principal Investigator).

Starting in June 2026, this project builds on Anvil, our hardware description language for preventing timing hazards. We are developing type systems, compilation techniques, and tools for checking timing, communication, and security properties while remaining compatible with existing hardware design workflows. See the NUS announcement for more about the project.
