About Me
I am a Temasek-Presidential Young Professor (Assistant Professor) in the School of Computing at the National University of Singapore, where I lead the FOCS Lab. I am also affiliated with PLSE@NUS. I am broadly interested in Formal Methods and Logic and their applications to Programming Languages, Software Engineering, and Computer Systems.
I joined NUS in August 2021. I received my PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2021, advised by Prof. Mahesh Viswanathan. My PhD was supported, in part, by a Google PhD Fellowship. I was also a Research Scientist at Facebook Inc. (2020–2021) and an NTT Research Fellow at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing (2021).
I obtained my B.Tech (Honours) in Computer Science and Engineering, with a minor in Physics, from IIT Bombay in 2014. Before my PhD, I worked as a Senior Quantitative Researcher at WorldQuant Research, India (2014–2015).

- Developing algorithmic techniques for analysis of concurrent and distributed systems.
- Developing languages and infrastructure for reliable and secure hardware design.
- Developing techniques for automated program translation.
- Understanding decidability and complexity horizons in the context of verification, synthesis, formal logic, and automata.

- 2026 — Robert Brown Promising Researcher Award, Ministry of Education, Singapore.
- 2024 — CPP Distinguished Paper Award for Rooting for Efficiency.
- 2023 — ACM SIGPLAN Distinguished Paper Award at POPL for Dynamic Race Detection with O(1) Samples; also selected for SIGPLAN Research Highlights (2025) and CACM Research Highlights (2026).
- 2022 — ASPLOS Best Paper Award for A Tree Clock Data Structure for Causal Orderings in Concurrent Executions.
